We’ve been doing quite a bit of Corporate Headshot and group photography this year. This is a nice change from the product photography that we do on a regular basis. I always enjoy talking with the clients and getting to know their businesses. Here are some group shots we did recently for Hatteras Financial. They were a lot of fun to work with and we got some great shots of them. I’ll post some of the headshots at a later time. Enjoy!

NC Corporate Photography - Lowes Home Improvement

This photo for Lowes will be used as an end cap for it's allen + roth brand. The photo is 5 feet tall and will be used in a select number of their stores. The challenge here was taking a normal sized photo and creating a 5 foot version with a high enough resolution to work in the situation it was intended. Enjoy!

We recently had the pleasure of photographing and producing a promotional video slideshow for a world premier of an incredible performance of “A Christmas Carol – The Concert” with the Baltimore Symphony.

The audio track you will hear is from the CD, NOT the Baltimore Symphony. It’s an awesome adaptation of Dicken’s Christmas Carol for Orchestra, Chorus, Rhythm Section and 4 performers. It was an absolutely incredible. Hope you enjoy the slideshow! (5 mins)

In my line of work I often get to work with people who inspire me; yesterday was no exception. R. Winston Miller is a wonderful artist and craftsman whom I have no doubt is destined for great things. This beautiful cherry table is his latest commissioned creation and we took this photo before the inevitable delivery where the new owner will enjoy it for a lifetime. This particular shoot required a Skyjack so I could get certain perspectives of the subjects at hand. I had the distinct pleasure of photographing Jay recently. I photographed his Sister a few years ago and so it was nice being able to work with her younger brother. In addition to being a good looking young man, Jay is a great kid and an amazing swimmer who will no doubt be getting a swimming scholarship next year. Enjoy!

I attended MerleFest this past weekend which is one of the largest annual music festivals in the country. Here is a photo of me and Jeff Cowherd (owner of J Bovier) posing for pictures. You will no doubt notice the J Bovier banner behind us which features my photograph of their new F5 Special Mandolin. J Bovier uses my photos in their trade show banners, brochures (including the cover of their 2011 North American catalogue) and website.

What a great couple! I have known Jen for many years and only recently had the pleasure of meeting Ward. What a great guy and a wonderful match for our friend Jen. We are so happy for both of them! We had such a great time doing the engagement shoot that it makes me look forward to the wedding that much more. Congratulations to this great couple!

Idlewild Photography's New Website and Blog!

After weeks and countless hours in front of the computer (between photo shoots and late nights) we have finally finished our new website(s) and Blog. I think my youngest son grew 6 inches since I started this process. Thanks to the folks at Photobiz and a special shout out to Mike Baldwin who helped immensely on this blog layout, I'm finally ready to launch. Because our business has grown so much we now have the need for two websites. One for Weddings, Portraits etc and a site dedicated to Corporate and Commercial work. (Both sites are accessible through the homepage at Idlewild Photography.com) All I can say is, I'm happy to launch.
